Project Architect

Our Project Architects are responsible and accountable for systematic and consistent completion of architectural projects 

Responsibilities include direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents. 

 

Duties and responsibilities 

Project and Team: 

  • Coordinate resources needs with team members and other departments to ensure project success 
  • Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time. 
  • Plans layout of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval. 
  • Participates in meetings with clients in business development situations, presenting architectural features that the company and the architect themselves has designed.  
  • Assist with technical mentoring of in-house architectural designers 

 

Technical: 

  • Provide necessary support to the designers on the team through timely and clear communication of client and consultant needs, impending deadlines, and critical goals 
  • Schematic Design and Design Development 
  • Develop code compliant designs 
  • Participate with projects’ design review and design presentations to the client 
  • Direct the development of the building design by testing it in relation to program, budget, codes and other issues that emerge in the Design Development phase 
  • Construction Documents 
  • Oversee the coordination effort with the engineering disciplines in order to ensure a consistent development of the project towards the design concepts established in earlier phases 
  • Develop project specifications and other technical requirements of projects 
  • Construction Administration 
  • Manage submittal responses, shop drawing reviews and construction site visits 
  • Prepare site visit reports 
  • Supervise the technical team in preparing construction phase design directives 

 

Requirements and Skills 

Required qualifications include:  

  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture 
  • Licensed Architect (AIA) NCARB Certification 
  • LEED or other certification (preferred)
  • 5+ years of Architectural industry experience with demonstrated team management experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with experience in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Revit, 3D Modeling, Sketch-Up, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Deltek experience (a plus)
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
